Let’s go!

Um…where can I sign up for a service/app where President Henry B. Eyring just reads the lyrics of the hymns to me? The promises in the classic How Firm a Foundation are true!  Such an instructive hymn!

“As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be. Fear not, I am with thee - be not dismayed.  For I am THY God, and will STILL give thee aid!”

Those promises aren't for the removal of challenges.  The Lord sends faithful disciples to help Him keep His promise to succor others in their distress to mourn, comfort, and stand as a witness.  What a cool promise!

Rosemary K. Chibota gave such a needed message of “Sawubona!”

I see you!  I recognize you!  And more I mportantly - your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ see you!

"He loves you. He knows you. He sees you as you are now and who you will become. He has a plan for your life and Jesus Christ is at the center of that plan."

"God does notice us and watches us, but it is usually through another person that he meets our needs." - Spencer W. Kimball

Two references back to back - I never tire of hearing that quote!

And Neil L. Andersen briefly sharing Pres. Chibota’s conversion story was such a nice follow up as if he were saying, “Pres. Chibota - I see you!”

I’m a firm believer in doing my best to get to know names so I can acknowledge and let people know that they are seen.

So much so far about what true discipleship really looks like!  It’s not about the number of followers or likes you get, but the number of people you serve and help.

Discipleship always requires courage.  And the greatest battles in life are fought within the silent chambers of your own soul.

"Being His true disciple, overcoming the world, keeping his commandments and trusting in Him and His promises is not a casual pursuit."

Some greatLots of King Benjamin references from James O. Fantone - The Savior’s invitation is not merely for us to add His name to our name like a badge of religious affiliation."

Service is not something we endure on this Earth... it is the very fiber of the Celestial world we wish to obtain!

Taking upon the name of Jesus Christ is a life-long commitment.  His name fixes everything!

Always love the excitement and passion of Elder Edward Dube.

We invite ALL to come unto Christ. Not just those we know and love. Not just those who are striving to be like Him. ALL!  The word “Come” is an action word. It requires us to choose to move from your current place to a better place.

From my lovely wife, Rochelle - "I think the message of the morning is to serve."  Yup!

Quentin L Cook, who looks fantastic at 86, referenced the iconic stone that David O. McKay saw as a missionary.  Such a cool story behind the “Whate’er thou art, act well thy part”.

And how and what part are we to act?  Integrity, virtue, and happiness are all intrinsically linked - which is why perhaps we are encouraged to “let virtue garnish our thoughts unceasingly” and to keep focusing on repenting and peacemaking.

Followed right up by Elder Alfred Kyungu’s powerful reiteration of the spiritual exercise of peacemaking.  This isn’t just a simple suggestion - it’s a call to discipleship as we follow Jesus Christ.

OK - my hot take here…am I OK suggesting that there are WAY too many LDS “influencers” on the socials seeking to fight fire with fire by creating controversy and just escalating contention rather than sharing goodness and choosing language that preserves relationships?

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to replace harmful language with words that uplift, edify, encourage.  We need to do better!

“Our words should heal, not divide.” 🔥

Ciro Schmeil steps up with a simple reminder that our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our covenants are essential to guide us through the covenant path and help us overcome our challenges and weaknesses.  Covenants bind us to Jesus Christ because He is central to every covenant we make. And when it comes to our covenants, especially the sacrament - we do not need to be perfect. We just need to be WILLING.

“Consider your ways” (Haggai 1:5)

From our beloved Prophet - “This is the Church of Jesus Christ”.  So named because this is His church, His doctrine, and His authority.

"We need one another's prayers. And President Oaks has tenderly felt them”.

We are all a work in progress. We need to be patient with one another and even ourselves.

“Never let your secular learning limit your spiritual horizons”🔥🔥🔥🔥

We all have problems and doubts. The answer is to get closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.  And The Book of Mormon is a great witness that God loves ALL and His grace is for ALL.

Man, as a kid, General Conference dragged on.

As an adult, General Conference just goes WAY too fast.

Need to go walk around and process thoughts…and digest breakfast.

See you all in a couple hours for the final round!
