APRIL 2026 SUNDAY AFTERNOON GENERAL CONFERENCE SESSION

Final session of General Conference - let’s go!

D. Todd Christofferson starts off strong by asking “What manner of persons ought we to be?” Christlike character grows out of a Christlike heart. A Christlike heart is the first step. We need his motivations, desires, thoughts and intents. We need a mighty change of heart and turn outward to others to have cultivate these desires.  In doing all of this, it’s not just about me being more Christlike but about me help everyone around us to  be prepared for Him.

I love seeing repetitive patterns in the scriptures, so I appreciated the five “Remember, Remember...” verses in the Book of Mormon pointed out by Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong. Mosiah 2:41, Alma 37:13, Helaman 5:9, Helaman 5:12, and Helaman 14:30.

“The Easter season invites disciples of Jesus Christ not only to rejoice but to remember our Savior.”

Who can glory too much in the Lord?  I love how Elder Aaron T. Hall brought up the personal nature of “my” Jesus, which so many glory and rejoice about in the scriptures. "Today, I glory in our Redeemer."  What names of Jesus Christ help you glory in Him.

“When life feels infuriatingly unfair and finding the strength to glory in the Lord seems difficult, reflect on the meaning of His divine names, and let Him restore peace to your soul.” 🎤

And WOW, that version of “Lord, I Would Follow Thee” was outstanding!

As one of Heavenly Father’s “older children”, I still loved President Susan Porter’s message to the kids.  Always good to constantly be reminded that I have a purpose and was born with the ability and capacity to make a positive difference for good.  I feel that purpose deeply in my life. "He can help you stand for truth so you can bring His light to others."

Life can be unfair references in this session: 2

OK, now Elder Neil L. Andersen is officially talking to me - “one of God’s older children” who has been blessed by the sealing power of the Holy Priesthood which is on the earth again and found in God's Holy Temples!  “We believe in eternal marriage. We teach of eternal marriage. And we seek eternal marriage."  And eternal marriage is and eternal journey!  And there are times in our marriage that require a stellar dose of patience.  Just ask Rochelle… 😂

"Love is not love that alters when it alteration finds." 🎤

Always love some good Church History references in Conference as Elder Quentin L. Cook talked about Moroni’s kept 17-year old Joseph Smith up half the night quoting scriptures referring to Elijah. I love that Elijah appeared to restore the keys on Passover and Easter. As you may very well know, the Jews still put out a chair for Elijah each year at Passover because of a prophecy that he will come at Passover. He surely did come!  And because of it - my family can be sealed forever.

"The temple stands as a symbol of hope; not pressure. The crowning ordinance of temple sealings invites us into the divine order of God. Today, I say to each of you: You are essential to God’s plan." Such cool examples and a beautiful testimony from Elder Taniela B. Wakolo, including his own personal sealing experience - 7 years into his marriage.

“It’s never too late for miracles” 🎤

Eternal family and temple sealing references…in a row: 3

I love that Elder Gerrit W. Gong recounted the story of the road of Emmaus. It is proof we do not see what we do not look for even though it has been with us all along. Christ is beside us and wants us to abide with Him. By doing that, Each of us can have a “road to Emmaus” experience as we walk the covenant path keeping a daily connection to the Savior.

Abide in him, and he will abide in us… I need to study the words “abide” and “abode” in the scriptures. Definitely a theme in this conference

I thought his statement from President Oaks was a strong summary of everything that has been talked about,” He loves us and loves each of us perfectly and invites us to walk with him, abide in him, and follow his example of ministering to others one by one in charity and love."

As a side note, this is one of two times per year I get on Twitter/X to get some quotes correctly stated.  It’s been so fun to see people say “I really needed that talk from ___________”.  That is the beauty of General Conference.

Unto him that receiveth, I will give more.

Thanks so much for letting me share, as always.  Now I get to study them…and hopefully receive even more goodness!
